Specifics of physiotherapy in patients with bronchial asthma
KONEČNÁ, Tereza
The bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of physiotherapy in patients with asthma bronchiale. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to describe the problem of bronchial asthma and to describe the possibilities of physiotherapy for patients suffering from asthma. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a comprehensive description of the disease, specifically definition, prevalence, etiopathogenesis, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, classification of the disease and treatment options. The anatomy of the respiratory system, respiratory muscles, a description of physiological breathing and its pathology in asthmatics is also included. A relatively large part of the theoretical part consists of physiotherapy options. Asthma bronchiale is a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract manifested by symptoms of bronchial obstruction such as dyspnoea, cough, wheezing phenomena when breathing and chest pressure. The disease can be accompanied by asthma attacks of varying frequency and severity, which can be life-threatening. The cause of these difficulties is the presence of chronic inflammation in the bronchi together with their hyperreactivity. The prevalence of asthma continues to rise worldwide, along with the increasing prevalence of allergic diseases, which may be influenced by the worsening air quality. Asthma bronchiale is an incurable disease that affects people of all ages. With timely diagnosis and the use of pharmacological treatment, the symptoms of the disease can be eliminated and thus the disease can be controlled. Diseases of the respiratory system also have a negative effect on the musculoskeletal system, so physiotherapy has its place in the comprehensive treatment of asthma. Physiotherapy treatment focuses mainly on restoring the correct breathing pattern, correcting body posture, eliminating muscle imbalances and improving physical fitness. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to propose physiotherapy procedures suitable for patients with bronchial asthma and to evaluate their effect. The form of qualitative research has been chosen for the practical part. The research includes 3 case studies of adult patients with asthma. Input and output kinesiology examinations have been performed, based on which comparison the results have been described
The development of death rates due to selected neoplasms in the European union between the years 1996-2010
Chaloupka, Ondřej ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
In all of the developed countries, malignant neoplasms are, along with cardiovascular diseases, among the most frequent causes of death. This tendency persists in the European Union countries for many years. The goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze the development of mortality caused by selected malignant neoplasms in the European Union countries from the year 1996 until 2010. The analysis is divided into 4 sections. Aside from standard demographic methods of evaluating the mortality rates by means of age-adjusted death rates calculation, statistical methods are used in this thesis as well. Primary methods used are Joinpoint regression, analysis of the course of specific death rates according to age groups and cluster analysis. In the observed period of time, mortality caused by stomach, cervical, and within the male population also respiratory tract malignant neoplasms declines. On the contrary, within the female population, the death rate caused by respiratory tract malignant neoplasms increases. Malignant skin melanoma represent a great future danger concerning the male population, and malignant pancreatic neoplasms concerning both genders. Over the observed time period, malignant skin melanoma death rate almost doubled in some of the countries. Within the European Union, the variations...
Somatisms in Czech Phraseology (The Respiratory System)
Máchová, Miroslava ; Janovec, Ladislav (advisor) ; Holanová, Radka (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the linguistic picture of the world of somatic idioms with components of the respiratory system, namely the nose, throat, lungs, diaphragm, and bronchi. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts and fundamentals of cognitive and cultural linguistics, primarily focusing on cognitive linguistics, the linguistic picture of the world and its definition and properties, anthropocentrism, the theory of conceptual / imaginary schemes, metaphors, metonymy and its types, and last but not least, phraseology. The practical part is organised into chapters, each of which revolves around a single corresponding somatism. Their etymological and anatomical characteristics are discussed, as are particular semantic areas and idioms in which the somatisms play a primary role. Lastly, those imaginary schemes thar are involved in the conceptualization of a given organ in the linguistic picture of the world are presented. The thesis is supplemented with the knowledge of psychosomatics which, given the premises of some idioms being conditioned directly by psychosomatics itself, have turned out to be of great utility.

Sex-specific analysis of mortality for malignant neoplasms in the Czech Republic in the years 1994-2013 Abstract The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and describe the evolution of mortality due to malignant neoplasms in the Czech Republic from 1994 to 2013 and to study mortality of malignant neoplasms by sexes in detail in the chosen spatial and temporal distribution for the purpose of identifying possible factors which can have an influence on differences between men and women. This thesis deals with mortality from selected causes of death in the malignant neoplasms in addition to the analysis of mortality for the whole group of malignant tumours. There was used standardized mortality rate as the main indicator of mortality and the probability of death by age and decomposition of the difference in life expectancy at birth by cause of death and age between 1994 and 2013 were also used as a more detailed analysis of mortality. During the reported period standardized mortality rate decreased for the whole group of malignant neoplasms and for most particular causes of death for both sexes. It was also found that the differences between men and women are rather decreasing, but for some causes of death such as malignant neoplasm of colon, malignant neoplasm of bronchus and lungs, and malignant neoplasm...
